The foot is a very complex region. One of the more common areas of pain is on the arch/heel. This pain is commonly diagnosed as “Plantar Fasciitis” which is a condition where the band of tissue that connects the heel bone to the toes becomes irritated. This pain can last for 5-6 months on average.  Pain in the arch of the foot or heel when first getting up in the morning is the most common symptom.

There are various physical therapy treatment techniques and benefits that are available for this condition, and an evaluation by our physical therapist will help determine the specific treatment that will work best for you. We will perform an evaluation of your entire lower extremity and look into the cause of your symptoms, which could include poor lower extremity mechanics, weak muscles, tight muscles, exercise regimens (over/under training), and poor footwear.
